Mekhala Love Boat
| Mekhala
is an unique cruise vessel, originally a sturdy deadwood boat that plied the river carying
heavy cargo. Then, through an extensive renovation, Mekhala was converted to a comfortable
cruising vessel complete with private cabins, shower and toliet room. Riding high in the
water, Mekala is perfect for viewing. Not only do visitors have an opportunity to motor
slowly up river, but they are also able to spend a night on the river's edge beside a
traditional Thai temple and participate in the morning Buddhist devotion with the
saffron-robed monks. |

Bangkok - Ayutthaya Departure at 15.00 hrs. Drop off next day at Bangkok.
Program 2:
Ayutthaya - Bangkok Departure at 08.00 hrs. Transfer to Hotel in Bangkok.
 
Day 1 Bangkok -
Ayutthaya
Guests board Mekhala mid-afternoon and cruise upriver, taking in the wide open vistas and
bustling riverlife until dusk when the cruise docks at Wat Kai Tia.
Fine Thai cuisine is offered at dinner, a meal that is romantically served by candlelight
on board Mekhala. After dinner guests usually enjoy a drink under the stars or pick up a
book, board game or movie, all of which are available on board.
Day 2 Ayutthaya -
Bangkok
Early morning, traditional offerings are made to the Buddhist monks at Wat Kai Tia after
which Mekhala continues its route. A full breakfast is served on board while Makhala
cruise upriver, arriving mid-morning at Bang Pa-In where guest may enjoy a guided tour of
the Royal Summer Palace
Transfer by long-tail boat for a fast 45 minute ride to
Ayutthaya. Stopping for a tasty Thai meal at waterside restaurant.
After lunch there is fascinating guided tour Ayutthaya's impressive 14 th century ruins
The short return to Bangkok is by air-conditioned minibuses, convenienty arriving back at
the capital late afternoon.

Day 1 Ayutthaya - Bangkok
Starting from Bangkok at 08.00 am visitors are taken by air-conditioned minibus comfort,
to the ancient capital of Ayutthaya where they have the chance of a guided visit around
the ancient ruins of this former capital. This is followed by a delicious Thai lunch at
riverside restaurant. In the afternoon guest transfer to Bang Pa-In by a fast long - tail
boat that weaves its way through the Chao Phraya's network of klongs. Here at Bang Pha In
where guest may enjoy a guided tour of the Royal Summer Palace
Mid afternoon guest will board the Makhala and set for
downriver, docking around dusk for an overnight stay at Wat Kai Tia. A lavish Thai dinner
is served by candlelight on board Mekhala and the rest of the evening is open for
relaxation with a book, board game or movie, all of which are avaliable on board
Day 2 Bangkok
Early morning, traditional offerings are made, and you are free to enjoy the
scenery, the passing parade of vessels or just soaking up the sun. Mekhala arrives late
morning back in the heart of Bangkok.
